Saugatuck is a small city in southwestern Michigan. It is situated along the shores of Lake Michigan and Kalamazoo Lake. Saugatuck is located 40 miles south of Grand Rapids, Michigan and about 70 miles north of the Indiana state border. According to the United States Census Bureau, there were approximately 980 people living in Saugatuck in 2016.

The beginnings of Saugatuck can be traced to the early 1800s when a gentleman known as William C. Butler arrived in the area of modern-day Saugatuck and established Kalamazoo Village. Williams purchased the land and laid out the village plat. In 1833, the village was named Kalamazoo. However, almost 40 years later the name was changed to Saugatuck. The first postmaster suggested the name Saugatuck. In 1868, the community became an incorporated village and one hundred years later it became an incorporated city.

Modern-day Saugatuck is a charming, small city. Residents enjoy access to community facilities and amenities and two large bodies of water. The location of Saugatuck against Lake Michigan and Lake Kalamazoo provide excellent recreational opportunities to residents and visitors. The city is also known for its art galleries and dining options. In Saugatuck, Michigan, there is something for everyone.

Residents of Saugatuck find it necessary to have cooling and heating systems installed in their homes. The city is located in the upper-Midwest, meaning it is susceptible to warm summer weather and very cool winter weather. During the months of June, July, and August, temperatures can climb to the upper-80s and low-90s following heat waves. Cooling systems like central air conditioning units help residents stay cool and comfortable indoors.

In addition to cooling systems, it is necessary for heating systems to be installed in Saugatuck homes. During the winter seasons, freezing temperatures and snowfall are common. Systems like furnaces protect residents and their homes from potential damages caused by harsh winter weather conditions. When cold fronts blow through Saugatuck, efficient heating systems can literally be lifesavers.
